Yes, this is a REAL alligator, but he won't bite. Promise. This taxidermied alligator head comes from Florida, where the farms provide alligator meat to restaurants.  These guys are on the smaller size, which makes them GREAT  for the person/child that really likes reptiles, or would really enhance studies in science classes - which is about the ONLY place I'd want to see an alligator with it's mouth open like this.

The American Alligator (Alligator Mississippians) is one of the two living species of Alligator, a genus within the family Alligatoridae. The American Alligator is native only to the southeastern United States, where it inhabits wetlands that frequently overlap with human-populated areas. These are from states such as Louisiana, Alabama & Florida. The American Alligator is much larger than the other Alligator species, the Chinese Alligator.

All alligators we sell are from a farm and raised for human consumption not taken from the wild.
