Description

This is a super stylish little box! It is circa 1940's and is made of a gold metal, probably brass. The top is black enameled and features a gold starburst design, set with a green cabochon stone. The stone appears to be glass.

It is made by the prestigious Volupté U.S.A. company, which is stamped on the inside. The Volupté company was formed in Elizabeth, New Jersey. They were known for making gorgeous compacts and cigarette cases throughout the mid-century in America. The company was purchased by Shields, Inc. from Attleboro, MA in 1957. Volupté even made some costume jewelry in the 1950's. Their pieces are very collectible, as they are very stylish and are known for their quality and high-end design.

This little box is in mint condition, and would look so glamorous on any dressing table.... well, actually, anywhere!
