A lovely vintage hand-towel (circa 1950's) with hand embroidered/needlework "CALIFORNIA" on the face.
The fabric itself is linen/cotton and is in good shape for it's age, with minor wear (noted in gallery: change in colour on back in fabric itself) and shows nicely, especially for a vacation home or casual home. But this would also make the cutest hostess or birthday gift for that person who is always dreaming of the beach!
This is for ONE towel only.
PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF MEASUREMENTS, AND E-MAIL OR CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT SIZE OR CONDITION.
More ideas for using Hand and Fingertip Towels:
Double up: place larger hand towels under finger-tip towels; use them to line sandwich trays; use larger towels as cafe curtains; make your own lingerie bag by folding in half and sewing the sides and making a drawstring closure; for a picnic or casual dining, use all different ones as large napkins: roll up the silverware in each or drape against the back of chairs; give them as birthday, teacher, or wedding gifts.
WE HAND-WASH ALL OF OUR ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE LINENS. WE THEN PRESS EACH ONE WITH AN IRON, AND SEAL THEM TO PREVENT FURTHER AGING. IF THERE ARE ANY AGE SPOTS WE DISCLOSE IT IN THE DESCRIPTION. IF WE MISS ONE, PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGY AND CONTACT US IF NOT SATISFIED.
Because this is antique or vintage fabric, it is best to hand-wash it. Using a detergent that is specialized for vintage linens is important, as they are less harsh and have special ingredients that take out yellowing, odors and age spots (wow, I wonder if there is an anti-aging cream like this?) The two we like best are Le Blanc Linen and RESTORATION - which is CURIO's preferred product and available for purchase in our textile section of the store. Be sure to follow the directions on the containers and the results will be amazing.
