This exquisite shoe is from China circa 1900 and is a beautiful example of the Lotus shoe that women would wear with bounded feet. Holding this shoe in your hand, it is amazing to think of a woman's foot fitting inside it!
This shoe is cotton with hand-embroidered cotton thread designs and a covered wooden heel. It was most likely from the countryside of China and is excellent condition. This makes a fun conversation piece. Place it on a table where people can pick it up! Its a marvel to hold!
DIMENSIONS: From toe to heel: 6" long, from toe to ankle: 7" long. Width: ¾" at point; 2" at foot opening. Height: 1½" at toe, 2¾" at foot opening (this is taken with the shoe standing on surface, including heel height which is approximately ¾" high).
