Description
Every traditional Chinese baby hat is unique. This one is especially so. It is hand-embroidered silk and cotton with embroidered appliqués creating a face on front, with ear flaps and beading throughout. These hats often denote luck and peace if worn on an infant on holidays or birthdays and were sometimes thought to protect and ward off an early death. There is normal wear for an antique textile, and is in truly excellent condition. These hats look incredible on a metal display but you can put them anywhere.... even a baby's head!
