This antique Chinese counted stitch silk floral coin purse pouch dates from the late 19th century. It is hand-stitched with silk thread on silk fabric, and embellished with gold threading. These pouches are also called pockets and were meant to hold small things such as coins or seals since there were no pockets in the clothing. This small pouch is in great antique condition with usual wear due to age, but no rips or tears. It is a beautiful and unique piece of Chinese textile art and Chinese costume history!
Although these are 'coin pouches', there is no 'opening' in the back in which to put anything. It is a flat surface, and not a usable purse.
THIS IS FOR ONE POUCH ONLY.
